Gothic & Lolita Bible, Yellow Hair and a Hairbrush

March 28th, 2008 (04:52 pm)

I just got the new Gothic & Lolita Bible today. I forgot to renew my subscription so now I'm just buying them from yesasia which is actually cheaper, so that's good.
Sadly the G&LB is starting to become more boring lately. I flipped through it and nothing really popped out as special. It's like meh I've seen it all before. Everything is so sweet! I like the darker/deconstructed styles a lot and wish they would do more of those. Although Angelic Pretty really try to do something different with their whole bleu/blanc/rouge French theme. I'm not sure how well I like it though. And it's funny how a lot of the models have yellow hair all of a sudden. It reminds me of Frenchy's hair in Grease XD

See? Their hair is yellow! Okay the last one is more orange, but still a funky color.

My new crocodile hairbrush:

Isn't it the cutest? It was really cheap too, only 20 dkr. I love it!

I've got the G&LB too, I'm not really fond of this magazine, I mostly got it this time for Kira Imai's macarons stickers! xD I actually prefer Kera magazine. I think the coordinates and clothes presented in Kera are more interesting than the ones in the G&LB which is only a kind of expensive brand catalog imo ^_^;

AP's French theme makes me giggles, surely because I'm French and find most of their desingns featuring small Eiffel towers quite "tacky"! xD (well, here in Paris, you can find small Eiffel towers almost everywhre in tourists shops and for us, French people, small Eiffel tower => Tourist cliché! xD

And your crocodile hairbrush is amazing! *o*

Browsing through the last G&LB I felt exactly the same as you, like it was just an expensive brand catalog! It wasn't always like that, was it? Or maybe I'm just not as easy to "wow" anymore :P
I prefer Kera to the G&LB any day too, but I'm just not ready to give up my G&LB addiction yet. I need my 4-times-a-year fix :D

I had a friend who went to Paris once and she brought me back a mini Eiffel Tower. Definitely a tourist cliché, but still cute.
Hmmmm... Someone should make Eiffel Towers with cute faces so they could ride the kawaii wave...

That's funny, I always thought you liked the darker styles the most.
